After a lengthy hiatus Proe is back making more music than ever. After recording and scrapping an entire album he made with DJ MF Shalem and starting all over, Proe is ready to make a splash once again with multiple projects nearing completion.
His “Whatever You’re On I’ll Take 2″ mixtape is part exercise, part flexing and all fire. Proe‘s signature style and supreme confidence come through like it never left on this newest release.
The first song from the project is “Famous” and is a light-hearted and honest take on some musician’s instant success. followed by “Not A Battle Rap” which is just that, Proe going in with no other goal other than murdering the beat. In Proe’s own words
“This mixtape is fun, this is me on my rap shit, honestly it couldn’t be more different than the music I’m making with shalem…”
Proe‘s versatility has always been one of his many strong points, and even on his “rap shit” Proe is able to display his humorous take on music, and maintain his outrageous lyrical ability at the same time.
Enjoy.

“This is a project I threw together over the last few weeks. Woodsist is a great label out of Brooklyn, NY that is really doing some interesting stuff right now. Everything they put out is worth a listen, if not really good. I feel like this is the kind of stuff Hip-Hop producers will be looking to sample 20 years from now. Anyhow, I like the music and decided to remix some of the best tracks from a few of the releases on the label. Super low-fi, off-kilter, distortion heavy, weirdo shit. This is definitely an experimental approach to beat making for me.
This is a totaly unlicensed project, and the Woodsist folks have nothing to do with it. Who knows if they would even like it.” – Al Lover, Fist Fam, Reflective Flesh Records
